Texas size

This is not the first post about big sizes and I am sure it will not be the last but just wanted to share that even the gin bottles are big here!!!

First day of school

First day of school and the girls are very excited about not having to wear a school uniform anymore.  We have also officially classified ourselves as 'bikers' at school.  It takes us a little less than 10 minutes to cycle to and from school.  Our biggest challenge during this trip is avoiding all the sprinklers!

Medical Questionnaire

I am sure I will get used to it but I was a bit surprised when I saw the second to last question on a questionnaire I had to complete at the girls' doctor.

Famke's new class

Of course we also met Famke's new teacher, Mrs Moses.  Famke will be in third grade.

During the year Famke's and her classmates can make, earn and spend 'money' by doing different task or  by good behavior or results.

Floortje's Class

Today was 'Meet the Teacher' day at school.  Floortje will be in Ms Willis Kindergarden class.  Her class animal will be the lion and the class color will be orange (Floortje favorite color!).

The new school

This is the girls' new school, Stan C. Stanley Elementary.  It will house around 1500 kids, aged 5 to 11!

Something that we were not used to was the fact that on the first day of school everyone brings in their own school supplies.  The supplies that you have to bring in are specified by school and grade, right down to the color of each of the items.  A trip to Walmart was therefore in order!  

I know understand that you can also order the whole pack online through the school's PTA.  Live and learn, next year!

Container

There it is again!  Pretty amazing how everything we own fits into a container, take two months to travel half way around the world, only to end up in our new house to make us feel at home again!

Signed all the paperwork today.  Now we need to wait for our things, should not be long!

Great to be with the four of us again!  Can't wait for our container to arrive!

On one of the few nice days this summer in Holland we were able to go out on the boat.  Very relaxing and enjoyable in the sunshine!
