Ron Mueck

This Sunday we went to an exhibition of some of the work of Ron Mueck in the Houston Museum of Fine Arts.  Mueck is an Australian artist who creates hyper-realistic 'sculptures' of people (and a chicken).  They are either smaller or much larger than life size.

They look so incredibly real that you would like to touch them to feel if they are warm.  The pictures don't show the scale very well but the  new born baby is about 5 meters long! The old lady is tiny but the couple under the umbrella is probably about 4 meters big/long.

The amount of detail is truly amazing.  From the toenails to the hairs, wrinkles and veins.
