Super moon

A few weeks ago there was a super moon.  This happens when there is a full moon and it passes by at the moon's closest approach to the earth.  It appeared 14 percent larger because of that. At its peak it was about 221,802 miles from Earth. That's about 15,300 miles closer than average.

Amsterdammertje

I am a bit behind on my blogging so need to catch up.  This story I did not want to keep from you.

We live in the Cinco Ranch division of Katy.  Each division has a home owners association (HOA) for which we pay a yearly fee..  They do lots of good things like maintain the greenery, pools, street lights etc.

However they also want all the streets to look immaculate and have pretty strict rules about that.  I had already heard that you are only allowed white or black basketball nets (not red!) and a bush need to hide your electricity meter!!  If you don't stick to the rules you receive a letter stating the 'issue' and a time limit to resolve the 'issue'

A few months ago we put our 'Amsterdammertje' in the front garden.  This 'Amsterdammertje' has travelled along with us around the world and has 'decorated' all our gardens so far.

I think you can feel it coming.... Yes, a few weeks after the fact we received a letter from the HOA stating that we had 'unapproved lawn decoration' in our yard!

As good citizens we have completed the forms and are (hopefully) awaiting approval!  We will keep you posted :)

Perfect pool conditions

Texas sunshine + outside temperature: 34 degrees C + pool temperature: 31 degrees C + a frozen margarita or a cold beer = perfect pool conditions!!!
