Super moon

A few weeks ago there was a super moon.  This happens when there is a full moon and it passes by at the moon's closest approach to the earth.  It appeared 14 percent larger because of that. At its peak it was about 221,802 miles from Earth. That's about 15,300 miles closer than average.

These are some pictures a friend, Yvanna, made that night.  Absolutely beautiful!
